My First Piano Adventure® For ages 4 - 6

Group piano classes for young beginners

16 lessons per course covering My First Piano Adventure Book A.

This series can be used with students as young as 4 years old.

With students at age six or less, piano teaching becomes an adventure for both the child and the teacher. We’ve set aside our seriousness and inhibitions to join the child’s world in a playful exploration of music and the keyboard. Through imagery, metaphor, and a diverse world of sound, we seek to develop a foundation of aural perception, eye tracking, and physical coordination. There is a special opportunity to develop perceptual ability at a young age. Skills unfold while we engage the child’s inherent love of music.

In My First Piano Adventure, five delightful “friends at the piano” engage the student with fun songs in many genres — folk, classical, blues, and originals. Unique technique activities and reading and rhythm games provide a holistic learning approach. These develop a foundation of aural perception, physical coordination, and eye-tracking for note reading.

Each Lesson Book includes audio recordings that offer a unique listening experience with outstanding orchestrations and vocals. The recordings demonstrate a key principle of the course: when children listen, sing, tap, and move to their piano music, they play more musically.

My First Piano Adventure comes to the Player App

The wait is over! My First Piano Adventure audio tracks are now included right inside the Piano Adventures Player app for free. The fun lyrics and energetic voices of children are a hallmark of this course, so we built a special audio playback mode to ensure the full listening experience.

Need to change the tempo for practice and play-along? Similar to the app’s original MIDI mode, the audio mode of the Player app includes a convenient slider to adjust to any speed.

Want to throw a listening party and hear the whole book without interruption? Just tap on Autoplay and you won’t have to navigate the menu to switch songs.

Going on a car trip? You don’t have to be connected to the internet to listen to the tracks. Before you leave, simply tap the cloud icon  to cache them all on your device.

Worried about running out of storage? The MP3-compressed files are fairly small (less than 80 MB per book), but it’s also easy to free up space by tapping on the trash can icon.  You can always download the tracks again later.

Wondering about connecting to your digital keyboard? Although the audio mode uses different technology than the original MIDI mode (so the MIDI in/out, follow/wait modes, and recording are not available), you can still send the audio to a compatible speaker.

More new features in this app update

Bluetooth MIDI device management is now built-in. An external app is no longer needed to make the “hardware handshake.” If you have a compatible Bluetooth MIDI keyboard, configure it from the Player app’s Settings menu.
